Do you stake players residing in the United States?
No. Right now we are uncomfortable staking on the smaller sites. This could change in the future and should regulation ever happen, we’ll almost certainly alter our stance on this.
Why must SNG players put up money as collateral?
This shows us you’re serious about improving and fulfilling your end of the agreement. We work extremely hard with producing videos, holding webinars, and posting in the forum. We’re choosing to make our own games tougher and are teaching you how to supplement your income or even have poker become your main source of income. This is all with no up front cost and no monthly fees. We only make money if you make money. In fact we lose money if you lose money! We are very serious about handling our end, we need to be sure you are too!
Can I change the games I’m staked for if I decide I want to switch?
Under very rare circumstances will we allow this. Once we start helping you improve in one game, it’s in everyone’s best interest for you to continue to develop your skill set for this game. Variance can be tough to handle and discouraging at times, but it’s no reason to quit and want to switch games. We’re extremely confident that we can teach ANYONE who is willing to put in the work, to beat any of the games we provide coaching for. There’s simply no great reason to allow this. The simple answer is no.
How fast will I improve and when can I move up in stakes?
This is up to you. We have some of the top players in the world at these specific games not to mention some of the best coaches. Our coaching staff is paid based on student performance. This provides added incentive for our coaches to give their students every bit of info they can and to be actively involved in their growth and development. With quality videos, live webinars, personal HH reviews, and coaches who are active in the forum, it’s completely up to you how fast you improve. The resources are there. We can only do so much. Your work ethic will dictate how fast you improve. Similarly, your work ethic will dictate how fast you move up in stakes. We base this somewhat off of results, but even moreso on how hard a given student works. We as coaches meet once a week to discuss all students and we contemplate moving each student up or down at these meetings. We make money when you make money, so you can be sure we will move you up as soon as you’re ready.
Can I get a better cut than 50/50?
For 99% of players the answer is no. A 10k game agreement can be banged out in 2-3 months by someone who really works hard. With what we’re providing, 50/50 is quite fair. However, for someone who is already crushing their games and simply wants to plug some minor leaks, we will consider a better cut. This is very rare though.
What if I want to end the agreement early?
No problem. Return all Pocarr funds and you are free to go. Please keep in mind however that we will be keeping your collateral and you will lose your access to all Pocarr videos, webinars, and the forum.
What if I finish in makeup?
Your collateral will be used to cover any remaining makeup. If your makeup exceeds your collateral then we’d appreciate the opportunity to continue backing you until you are out of makeup, however this is not required.
Why should I join Pocarr and not some other training/staking site?
There are very few, if any sites that offer what we do. How many sites can you interact with the coaches via Skype and a forum? How many sites’ coaches actually post regularly in their own forum? How many sites offer personal HH reviews? On top of all of this, many of our coaches have put up their own money to stake you with! They have a HUGE interest in your success and are willing to do anything it takes to help you succeed! Remember, our coaches are not paid per a video but rather a percentage of your winnings. Further, if you lose, they lose! You won’t find a site with a more dedicated coaching staff.
How many games will I need to play per a month?
There’s no set number. We do ask that you are reasonable however. Playing 100 games a month is unacceptable. Having a random month here and there with 100 games is perfectly fine. We favor applicants who are able to put in 500+ games a month.
How many videos do you guys have?
We currently have 240 videos (as of May 13th, 2012) and our library is expanding rapidly.
How much one-on-one coaching can I expect?
We offer live webinars where students are welcome to interact with their coach as he plays live. Members may also submit HH files for professional review, and coaches are extremely active with responding to posts made in the forum. All of this, along with the current video library are what you can expect at Pocarr.
Can I talk with coaches personally?
Absolutely. We have a Pocarr Skype group. Additionally all coaches are accessible personally via Skype as well as through the forum.
Can I get anything for referring someone to Pocarr?
We offer 2% of what we make to our referrers. If someone applies and writes you down under “referred by”, then should we accept them as a student, you will receive 2% of what they earn Pocarr over the course of their 10k game agreement. This will be paid once the agreement is completed. Should you refer an MTT backee, you will receive 2% of what they earn Pocarr each month, paid out on the 15th of the following month.
Once I complete the agreement, will I still have access to videos and the forum?
Yes. Anyone who completes the agreement will have lifetime access to our video library and our forum. In the future, should we revert to a monthly-paying subscription site, you will have a lifetime membership.
