What Is the Best Poker Coaching Site? How to Choose

The best poker coaching site is the one that fits your format, your stakes and how you learn, and that you’ll actually use. A site full of high-stakes cash content won’t help a micro-stakes tournament player, and the most advanced solver tool is wasted if you never open it. Here’s how to choose.

We’re a stable, so we’re a little biased: our own coaching is private and only available to the players we stake. But not everyone wants to be staked, so here’s an honest guide to the options.

The main types of poker coaching

1. Video training sites

Subscription sites with libraries of strategy videos, courses and live sessions from professional players. They’re good value for broad learning, and most cost roughly $25–$200 a month. Well-known examples include Run It Once, Upswing Poker, Red Chip Poker and PokerCoaching.com.

2. Solver-based study tools

Tools like GTO Wizard let you explore solver solutions, practise against them and analyse your hands. They’re excellent for understanding why strategies work, but they need discipline and a plan to use well.

3. Private 1-on-1 coaching

The most targeted option: a coach works on your leaks. It’s also the most expensive. See how much a poker coach costs.

4. Coaching for profit and stables

Instead of paying upfront, you share future profit. Stables combine coaching with backing, so you also play on their bankroll.

How to choose

  • Match your format. MTT, cash, spins and PLO strategy are very different. Choose content made for your game.
  • Match your stakes. Advanced high-stakes theory won’t help much if you’re still building fundamentals.
  • Check how current it is. Poker strategy moves fast. Look for regular new content, not just an old library.
  • Try before you commit. Use free trials, free YouTube content and monthly plans before paying for a year.
  • Look for interaction. Communities, Q&A and hand-review sessions are worth a lot more than passive videos.
  • Be honest about your habits. If you won’t use a solver, don’t pay for one. Start with what you’ll actually use.

Before paying for anything, use up the free resources: YouTube, Twitch streams, free articles, and study groups with players at your level. When you know what you need, paying for a site or a coach becomes much better value.
